TEXAS HOLDEM DRAWING ODDS

When you hold two cards in your hand and there are three cards on the flop, there will be 47 cards will have been dealt out to the other players and that some of these 47 cards will even be in the muck is of no consequence when it comes to computing your outs.  The fact is that an unseen play poker card that you may need to complete your hand has the same chance of coming on the turn or river regardless of how many players were dealt into the hand or how many of them have folded during the play of the hand.

For example, you hold A♥9♥ and the flop is K♥7♠ 3♥.  You have nine outs with two cards to come to make your flush, giving you a 35.0% chance of making the flush by the end.  If you miss on the turn, your chances then go down to 19.6% to make the flush with one card to come

  1. This table lists the winning percentage chance of winning against random hands when you hold the specified pair in the pocket against the specified number of opponents and everyone plays to the end.
  2. You will flop a set 10.776% of the time but if you miss, you’ll still make your set by the river an additional 8.4% of the time.
  3. Remember, if someone else has A ♥ A♠ in the pocket and you also have a pair in the pocket, if doesn’t matter if your pair is K ♦ K ♥ or 2 ♣♠.  You still  need to improve to win the short hand games.
